    Hi there,

I'm going on honeymoon in November and wondered if anyone had any suggestions. Weather is a major factor as we would like some sun! The budget is 4K ish!

    We are looking at a few options;

Option 1: New York (5 days) then onto Florida (3-5 days) and then maybe cancun or cuba (7-10 days).

Option 2: New York (5 days) to Bermuda (10 days).

Option 3: New York (3-5 days) to LA (5 days) to Hawaii.

Bermuda is also an option!! Basically we are at the starting block so any advice would be appreciated. :D

November, id do southern hemisphere unless you prefer cloudy and rainy days.

You can have luxury at your budget in Thailand. Beautiful beaches, top class hotels, lovely scenery and food that I still dream of

With your budget you could also consider south america, south africa / tanzania / botswana but probably a step down in terms of accomodation then what you can afford in Thailand.

Indonesia (bali) or the Philipines (borocay) could also be options.

Thanks Balmed out. We've been to Thailand before so had ruled it out.

We have never been to the States so wanted to go that direction. We are starting to narrow it down now and are looking at New York, Orlando and Cancun. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

My honeymoon we wanted to do NY-LA-Hawaii but getting to hawaii is prohibitively expensive. We ended up doing LA-Vegas-San Fran - NYC spread over three weeks.

You could do a solid month in california, so much to do and see!

Its possible to fly to cancun return via newark in new york from dublin with continental airlines for a good enough price, well it was when i went.
Cancun is nice but similar to a spanish resort.
If going check out Chicken iza and talum. Consider going a little further to flores and the nearby tikal (i reckon are impressive then pyramids or angkor wat) in guatemala and to the beautiful islands off Belize (mainland dodgy but islands are a tropical paradise eg. caye caulker, caye ambergris)

Your budget is a little tight if that's for the two of you. Certainly the weather in NYC will be pretty much like here, rainy and cloudy.

Actually having had a quick look on the ITA Matrix, it would seem your flights can be got for a lot cheaper than I imagined though there is a bit of hanging around €500 with Continental.

How about this, perhaps you could find something with a long layover in between.

ITA Matrix is a handy tool for this.

Went to NY(3 days), Mexico city(4 days) & cancun(7 days) last october. Couldnt recommend it highly enough although I probably wouldnt choose Cancun again. There is a much nicer city quite close to cancun called playa del carmen that would be perfect for the time that your going. Its more livelier, more things to do & friendlier imo than cancun. Peak season in Cancun runs from December to April & it was quite dead for the most part when we were there.

If you check skyscanner you can get very reasonable return flights taking in all those 3 cities. On the budget you have it should be tight but manageable. Your biggest expense after flights will probably be accomodation in NY

Thanks everyone for your advice. Leonidas, funny you mention Playa del Carmen as everyone we have spoken to has said the same thing so we are planning on going there instead of Cancun.

Incase anyone else is interested in a similar holiday, what we've been told so far is that Cancun is more of a party town where as Playa del Carmen is geared for honeymooners. Same facilities as Cancun in terms of bars and restaurants but much quieter scene.
