    Hi,

I recently built a swing set for the daughter and now that it's complete I realise that there is scope to add a pull up bar. Does anyone know where I could get a set of pull up bars (or even two handles) that would mount onto the 4" side of a 4x3 beam or to the under side (3") Thanks.

Have you pictures of the set? if not your own photo it might be pictured on sale online. I can't picture your descriptions in my head.

I was in woodies the other day and they had lovely spare shovel handles, about 1.25 or 1.5" thick straight wood, about €11. In the past I had 2 bits of rope tied onto a chinup bar, these were 2 small loops and I was able to slot in a wooden pole for chins. It is sort of like a trapeze but since the loops were small it did not swing much.

You might be able to use gymnastic rings, which the kids could use too.

If you can imagine a swing at either end and a gap between them, It's very sturdy and the cross bar is approx 2 meters off the ground.

    Nice job :)

I'd be doing chins on it with nothing added! you could smoothen the top off a bit. I would go for gymnastic rings as they are easily removed and you can also do dips and all sorts, and the kids can use them.

You might be able to move the swings aside and drape them over the sides of the A frames.

I would be able to mount a climbing rope on the other end too, where the wood juts out, it would just slip on and off to keep it inside when not in use.

This might give you some ideas if you still want a normal bar

Yea, swings will drape over the sides. The bit the juts out on the end is for a climbing rope for the kids. The other end will have a climbing wall up to a slide, when phase 2 is complete. Thanks for the link. Will be at this is no time:

you could just use some gymnastics rings and leave the gap between the swing and the rings real small?
