    Hi guys,

I have finished a undergrad in finanace and economics with a 2.1.

I'm stuck as to what options to take. The masters choice is out of the equation as I'm broke and I can't get a loan as I've no part-time job.

I have applied for some accounting programs but stand no chance and I didn't do accounting in second and third year.

What other option can I take ?

Work....employers often will pay for a course, which you could take on a part time basis.

    There are a few options:

Keep an eye out for jobs in the Central Bank here; they'd pay for a masters.

You might not do so badly applying for accountancy programmes; I know lots of people who got jobs with PWC, KPMG, Deloitte etc. in accountancy positions who didn't do accountancy. Also, these firms also hire on the consultancy side, which doesn't require any accountancy at all.

The Civil service is looking for Administrative Officers with specialist skills in economics here.

Failing those options, whatever university you went to might have a careers service which lists available graduate programmes which you might want to apply for.

Failing that, you could work for a year or two full time in a shop or something and save money for a masters that way. As far as I know The return on a masters is very high, so they're definitely worth doing.

Sorry to highjack this thread slightly, im in year 3 of a part time BA, a decent component of whic is economics.

I would like to go on and do a postgrad in economics, funding isnt an issue, but being released during businness hours would be.

Does anybody know of a decent postgrad in Economics which takes place in the evenings?

Ive checked some of the college websites and while they seem to offer part-time programmes, they appear to be taught during the day.
