Tried with the books I need and they're a few euro dearer than Joyces of Galway who give 10% off also.

Just in case anyone doesn't know, You can use Tesco vouchers to buy deals vouchers for O'Mahonys - €5 Tesco vouchers gets €10 O'Mahonys ... only thing is you can't get the 10% off if you use Tesco vouchers but its still a brilliant deal imo

Which books? I tried about 6 books for a 6th class school list on O'Mahoneys, Easons, Joyces, abcbooks, bookhaven and schoolbooks.ie and they were all exactly the same price.

Think we're going to use O'Mahoneys with the Tesco tokens.

bookhaven.ie are the only ones that sell used books which is a good option. Usually for less then half the new price.

I always find it amazing that every place charges the exact same price for schoolbooks!
The government should be looking at this Cartel.

did they not get alot of bad publicity last yeat for not being able to fulfill orders?

I mentioned them before, but I used :

    www.abcbooks.ie

They had free delivery. They don't have 10% off but they are still cheaper than anywhere else I looked and they gave me free covering.

This was for 5th class books, maybe different for other classes.

They were disastrous last year due to a new warehouse or something like that - they stressed a lot of people out by not returning emails, not answering the phone and generally not responding. I got everything just in time but others weren't so lucky.
There was a discount for Super valu customers which doesn't seem to be renewed this year probably because of all the grief supervalu got about them.

Book Haven http://www.bookhaven.ie are offering free delivery (Code is FD01) or free book covering (code is FB03) for school books.

Its not as much a saving as the schoolbooks but after the fiasco last year Im sure a lot of people could do without the hassle.

Edited: Sorry thought it was Schoolbooks.ie as far as I know they are not related so dont think there was a fiasco.

I've shopped around the different web sites and no they don't

There definitely is a bit of price fixing going on. I priced books for 2 children together and when the best offers were taken into account there was no more than €3 difference between the 3 sites I checked.

In fairness to the booksellers, the publishers have an RRP list for schoolbooks which all sellers pretty much stick to unlike groceries etc. which usually don't have an RRP.
