Something different for the wife (to carry baby seat)

My wife already has a nice road bike and a hybrid, but we've just had a baby and I'm looking to get her a new run-around - something pretty lightweight (not some big clunky steel frame) that could comfortably carry a baby seat and with a dropped crossbar to easily get on and off without dropping bike with baby. Simple gears and components would be a bonus.

I'm looking for something kinda funky / fun, bordering on "hipster" fixie. I'm thinking something along the lines of the Dawes chick line, but can anyone else can mention any others worth looking at??

    Here you go

It will take a rack and mudguards but it's steel!

I bought the Kona Roundabout for my girlfriend from Evans. It turned out to be rather road bike more than anything else and the frame is quite wobbly with a child seat on it.

Get something sturdier, ladies MTB or a touring bike.

That's actually not a bad looking bike. Far nicer than the 2013 model.

What about something like a Surly Cross or an On-One Pompino, steel single speed frames, built tanks.

    Sounds perfect!

    Didn't read the OP sorry.

Pompino isn't extremely heavy and has a sloped top tube like a MTB. Won't be as light as an aluminium frame though.
