Where to buy black rose seeds

I'm not that into gardening but I'm looking for black rose seeds for a present for someone. I think black roses are rare enough but as I said I don't know that much about gardening so I may be completely wrong. Does anyone know where I could get seeds or a small plant that you can plant yourself either in Dublin city or online? I may also be in Enniskillen or Belfast so they are options too.

Tough one.

Roses are rarely grown from seed. Roses are usually grown by grafting a bud eye or cutting to a rootstock. The rootstock is usually a strong disease resistant variety, but the grafting point is a weak point on the plant.

Roses can also be propogated from straight cuttings from a parent plant. These grow their own roots.

Black roses, i have not seen for sale in Ireland. You could try googling a few rose suppliers and emailing them.

Could I make a suggestion? Why not get a rose with more than one colour instead?
I bought this "Handel" climbing variety earlier in the year and the roses have to be seen to be believed, they are super beautiful. I have other red, white and yellow roses but this one just blows them all away by far. I have it growing up against a trellis on my back wall and its going to be really spectacular in years to come, couldn't be happier with it.

this is one of the darkest ive come across with a lovely apple smell, but is usually a cut rose as it does not behave when growing.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I figured it would be hard to get. The person has a lot of roses already but I'll look into it anyway. Thanks!
