    Hi ,
My salary was reduced this month due to Revenue error - ie they issued an incorrect cert to my employer and this month i was down almost 300 euros , I tried to talk to them but dont fully understand what to do .
We are married and SRCOP is split between us . My wifes SRCOP or salary were not affected at all .

Any suggestions on how to get this back ?

    Thanks

Yes do what everyone else is doing take a few cash in the hand jobs till you make the deficit up then stop . Every single person who can is doing this sort of thing at the end of the day no one will care if you loose your home or car they will just say ok next person . My father told me years ago look after yourself son because no one gives a rats about you .., just a taught by the way

Disregard that advice- the tax forum doesn't countenance illegality.

Have you contacted the tax office to see why they issued the revised cert- my understanding is that this is generally only done if they've received information from you. Did you submit some request using PAYE Anytime?

If it's an error have you asked them to issue a corrected cert? Once it's reissued you should see the effect in your net pay when your employer receives it.
It's possible given the late stage of the year (I'm not sure of the cut-off date) that you'll have to wait until January to get a 'review' done of your 2013 liability- at that stage, everything should be corrected and whatever refund due will be made.

Will they conduct a review or do i need to request one ?

If an amended cert issued showing the correct standard rate cut point and credits and you are still employed by the same employer, its your employer who recalculates your tax to determine if a refund is due. This is assuming this all relates to the present tax year of 2013.

Hi , just a follow up to this item , sent in a P21 balancing Statement as advised by them and came back yesterday that i owe them money , I spoke for nearly an hour to the Revenue who basically recognized that the computer wrongly issued the certs and that there was nothing they could do about

Any advice on where i could go next ? Tks

nothing you can do really .... its up to the tax payer to ensure that their SRCOP & Credits are right -- They might agree to to spreading the repayment over a year or 2
