    From the Library blog -

Trinity College Library Dublin is now accepting applications for Student Shelvers for the 2013/2014 academic year. Applicants must be students of Trinity College Dublin.

Student shelvers are employed to work 10-12 hours per week in the Berkeley, Lecky, Ussher and Hamilton Libraries on the main campus and the John Stearne Medical Library in the Trinity Centre, St James’s Hospital. The primary role of the student shelvers is to ensure that books are sorted and shelved each morning before the libraries open.

Further information and the application form are available online. You will require your TCD network username and password to access these pages off campus.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 12pm, Friday 16th August 2013.

If you have any queries please contact Kathryn Smith, Sub Librarian (Reading Room Services).

Hypothetically if I got the job and I had 9:00 AM lectures what would happen?

Try and switch to a 6-8 or 7-9 shift if you want to go to the lectures, otherwise skip them.

From what I remember the applications process is notoriously vague. Would love to do it and have relevant experience but was still rejected without interview last year :(

I have relevant experience but didn't get an interview, and I remember someone on boards a few years ago saying they had worked in a library but weren't selected either. And then I know people with no experience who were called. Hard to know if they simply came across better on the application or if there's some other criteria they met that was more important.

It has the selection criteria on the page Unshelved linked in his blog.
