    Hi,

Does the BMW UK warranty transfer to Ireland. Looking at a 2011 car and wondering if the warranty will transfer across to here ?

    Anyone any experiences ?

    Thanks
    Rob

AFAIK the Manufactures warranty will still stand. Maybe somebody can shed more light on this?

I think the 3rd year of the warranty might not stand in Ireland, but will in NI if you need anything doing.

The third year of the warranty is a dealer warranty but it's as good as the manufacturer warranty and is honoured no problem in Ireland.

My BMW is 2008 and is a UK import, I got warranty work carried out by a BMW dealer here in the final year (3rd) of the warranty and had no issues. BMW Ireland and BMW UK are the same company. To be certain though best get the car's VIN or reg number and ring BMW to confirm.

    Rob,

I also bought mine (a 2008) about 3 years ago over in the UK,

before I bought I confirmed with them and BMW Ireland (1890-719-420) that the warranty was europewide and would be honoured by the Irish dealerships

Had a bulb go on me about 6mths after and Joe Duffys replaced it under warranty so its pretty comprehensive

BTW best of luck with the new car! just be prepared to get the shaft at the NCT centre when it comes to VRT
