Apple TV 3 - HDMI HDCP issue

I recently bought an apple tv3 - when trying to play video sometimes I get a message saying "this content requires HDCP for playback". The last time I got it it was while trying to watch a netflix movie.

Usually it has worked fine. The previous time it happened, I reset the device and there was no issue playing the second time?

Any ideas or solutions to this?

It's either a problem with your tv, the cable or the ATV itself. Try your best to rule some of them out, starting with the cable. Also try changing video resolutions on the ATV and see if that helps.

    Stupid DRM.

I have gotten this error a number of times with my Sky+ HD box but all that was required was to set the skybox into standby and turn it on again (bizarre, I know).

Did you ever NOT get this problem? Has it just occurred recently? If so maybee power-cycling might fix your problem.

Have you tried a different HDMI cable? Any old cheap one should do it, could be a faulty one

You can get a cheap HDMI cable in most €2 or Dealz shops have them for €1.50.

Your not putting it through a HDMI splitter or anything, mine didnt like that very much!
