Modern Ballock: How do they work?

Showing my age here!!! I have a toilet that has developed a slight overflow trickle into the pan. Lifted the cistern lid to be confronted by what I would describe as a modern ballcock!! See the attached for picture. So anybody mind helping me understand how to stop the trickle? Thanks W.

There are step by step guides out there for this. You just need to search for them. I'd post a link but I'm on the phone

The issue is with the seal which needs to be replaced. Not a big job just finicky
