Buying dumbbells

Hey,

So I want to start getting myself into better shape. Im going to start off with some weights at home.

Im buying a set of dumbbells tomorrow, theres a 20kg (just under 50lbs) adjustable set in argos. However, I dont have any idea how heavy that is and I want to know if its to heavy that I will have a problem carrying it to the car?

Im not a particularly strong person... Should I just order them online? Would you expect a woman to be able to carry them?


P.S. As I said Im not really sure how heavy (or lite) that is, so sorry if it seems like a stupid question...

Same as 20 bags of sugar. If you can carry 20 bags of sugar in a package about the same size as two shoe boxes stuck together, you'll be grand. You could always use a trolley to get them to the car?

They'll probably come in multiple boxes to make them easier to move. a 20kg set isn't particularly useful

I bought a 20kg set in argos.. i was thinking it would be enough.. after the 1st few times using them I needed more weight.

15 - 20 kg on each arm is what i needed.

So now i've an ad on Adverts looking for 4 x 5kg plates

It will come in 1 or 2 cardboard boxes. A tray of 24x500ml cans of beer would be about 12-13kg, but much harder to hold. A backpack or strong "bag for life" would make it easier to bring home.

The other option is get the 50kg set in argos, they should let you leave it behind the counter and carry it out in 2-3 goes.

I started with a 20kg set and bought more plates & a bar later, costed more that way.
