    hi all,been wondering about this for some time now,a few months ago i saw a programme about the travelers way of life,in it they showed a peice where they were hunting with lurchers,the dogs caught something that looked like a hare,but it was not a hare,this programme was filmed in uk,was it some sort of very small deer or what,anyone know what it was?im just curious,thanks all:D

    I think it was a chinese water dear. Very popular in the uk.

    Unfortunately they didn't show a program about an old fashioned rough and tough gamekeeper shooting the poachers' dogs.

    It was a chinese water deer and it caused a lot of angry people in the UK.. televising them illegally killing the deer with lurchers and nothing being done about it even though the evidence was there on video.. if they weren´t travellers they would have been locked up.

    yes you are right,i have seen televised cock fights,and dogs killing hares owned by the travelers,who were easily identifiable,yet they get
    away with it,i have nothing against travelers,i have bought dogs from some of them in the past,but if my dogs were caught doing what they are allowed to do,id be in jail,why is that i wonder?
