The best deal l've seen is in a walk in store in London, phones 4U Samsung galaxy ace 2 for £159 each sim free. I know its not a fantastic processor but at least its dual core.
I'd like 5 identical phones, we are with Vodafone but they say they don't stock the ace 2 anymore, so that 200 euro bracket is not covered by them IMHO, the desire c is too small. We will be using these with nexus 7 tablets so they won't have to do much, they have a decent battery and will need to hotspot to upload content from the nexus 7.

Anyone think there is a better android for around 200 euro than the ace 2 ?
    Thank you

Thanks for that, I've emailed Vodafone to see what our costs would be for this. Did a side by side comparason, I like the larger screen, but the battery life is not great on the ascend for a business phone.

Would this not be more suitable, not sure what you are trying to achieve ?

Thanks, I have a hardware budget of about 550 per user for a maintenance crew. Each needs a phone and a device capable of being signed by a client.

I've been testing various options on S3, HTC one and a note 2.

The note two is a good single device, but the nexus 7 is the preferred option now and is best for signitures. That leaves me with around 200 to get the phone option ( need SD cards , car chargers and cases etc) not going for 3g tablets as the software does not need to be online all the time. So general phone use and the ability to hotspot for the nexus 7 .
So all the processing for the software (very light anyway) will be on the nexus 7. But the phone calls and 3g will be in the phone.

I'm fairly happy with the ace 2. Just seeing if there are better options.

    Thanks again.

If the engineers are anything like what ive dealt with in the past.

Get them rubbish nokia throw aways if they need to take phone calls.
(they will definitely damage / break / lost a touchscreen phone.
Install the Mifi permanently in the Cab.
Use the nexus for the signature capture.

I do have to ask thought, Why is the Nexus 7 Chosen over the note? If its primarily for signature capture its completely pointless. I have been capturing signatures on devices from 2 Inch up to 5 Inch for 5 years with no issues. A 7 Inch screen is ridiculous overkill. If its a management decision for perception you need to fight back.

Nexus 7 is unwieldy enough for engineers to be handling while also performing their duties. so you would be giving them double the kit for no realistic added benefit bar cost and possible ease of damage.

It not a cost issue, I'll spend about the same. There are a number of reasons.

    1) the lads like the tablet, bigger screen etc. Better for PDF manuals, CAD drawings etc.
    2) if they break the note they have no signature or phone
    3) if they are filling out a lot of forms and inspections two batteries or a phone independent battery is good.
    4) the poet cases with the elastic hand grip on the nexus is favoured.
    5) I agree about guys on the road wrecking phones, all the more reason not to have all the eggs in one basket.
    6) we also use other sizable H&S documents and the forms we have look better on the nexus 7.
    7) There was a vote so I have buy in.

Also there are 5 cabs, each man is standalone, needs a phone with decent email functions. The mifi unit would not work. But I think we will use one on sites, thanks for linking it.
