safety flooring for back yard

We are renting a house for 3 years and have a back yard of 9 metres x 5 metres that is concrete. I am looking to put down a safety floor for our 9 month old in either rubber flooring/ artificial grass etc. but it all seems very expensive. Are there any cheap alternatives?

Put down a cow mat they are great its what we used for our dogs to lie on in their run so they wont destroy the garden when lying down.
