Does insurance cover damage caused by roof rack load?

I sometimes carry a bicycle or surfboard on my roof rack.
Only recently I started wondering, what would be the story if any of those fell off the roof when I'm driving and caused a damage to third party...
Would my insurance policy cover it?
(I know they wouldn't cover damage to my bike or surfboard, but would they cover damage to third parties)?

There is nothing mention about roof racks in the policy.
I never informed my insurer that I have a roof racks as I never thought it was necessary.
