have never used any semen but id class them similar to parthanaise/bb i suppose, medium sized well muscled to be used only as a terminal sire on good continental cows with a bit of muscle themselves and be heading for export market.

i am wondering the reason why the society say to avoid using piemontese on holstein?

I have a Pixbrfr cow, a small cow but always throws my best calves. Have PT calves off her for last two years and they're v good quality. Have kilmoney Bruce on her for next year.

Dovea had a piedmontese bull about 20yrs ago, was easy calving, I had one fr x bull by him, but the less said the better.

I think someone near Thurles has about 20 cows, some of the yearling bulls I saw there were very temper'mental'. That was about 5 years ago.

They are very tight gutted, lean well muscled cattle that kill out well. They might suit the export trade for Italy.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

I did my placement just outside Thurles from Gurteen suckler and sheep farm beside old sugar factory. He's an Ai technician too and did a lot for the lad that breeds the piemontese he was so impressed he bought a bull from him. Before that he was selling mainly to export smashing looking cattle. Must call over and see what their like now.

From what I can remember he had a few 1/4 bred blue cows and they started to throw nice light framed calves don't know what they grew into.
