    Hi,
would anyone know where would i get a key for a moneybox the banks used to give out to kids years ago, i have one that looks like a book with "Provincial Bank of Ireland Limited" printed on the front.

It looks like a square uncut for pins skeleton key would do, something with a head around 5x5mm might do. Or should i just try and make one?

    Thanks

Not sure about where to get a key but the money box must be pre 1968 when the Provincial Bank became part of the AIB group. Is there coins or notes inside?

well signostic there is something rattling inside, it sounds like something small though and it seems a bit heavy for what it is although i dont know how thick the sides are it might be a bit bombproof!

I have keys for I think all the book shape ones from the UK and Ireland. However I wouldn't sell them. What's the maker's name on it, if there is one? Should be no problem me opening it but then they snap back shut, you'll most probably be disappointed with what's inside. I've gone through loads and never found anything worth talking about inside, usually just some old worthless coins.

"Pearson-Page jewsbury co ltd". is on the bottom under the slot along with "patents 371440 and 375043", "Thrift" is also on the spine.

Yeah I can certainly open that for you if you want, that's the most common make. The keys are very small, I don't know if they're the kind of thing that you can get copied easily. If you leave it with me I'll see if I can get copies made and if so I can post one out to you.
