How long for handicap adjustment

I played a competition on Tuesday my first singles stableford of the year and should be down 1.2 after it. I checked golfnet and it is up on my away records but my handicap hasnt changed as yet.

How long will it take for this to happen, is it a case that the card I handed in will be posted to my own club and they will then adjust it there and this is what I am waiting for?

Also, will my score from the other day be automatically posted to howdidido?

Haven't played an away round yet so not sure how long it will take to go through Golfnet (or Howdidido)
You may be aware of this but already but worth stating anyway, if golfnet has not been updated before your next comp, you need to do a manual deduction before playing.

If it's on your Away list on GolfNet then it's up to your h/cap secretary to incorporate the adjustment.

Your score will be posted on howdidido under the results of the club you played at but it will not appear under your results.

Oh right ok so if I add the away club to my clubs on howdidido then I should see it?

    Thanks for the reply

Thanks for that, I probably wont be playing another one for a couple of weeks but will have to remember the change in my handicap, tis so long since I said anything other than 18.

I don't think you'll see it under your notices but the results for the second club should then be listed on your home page.

When your home club h'cap sec uploads/downloads to golfnet you will see it.

I played an away competition yesterday. Got 40 points.

Golfnet has it in my Away records and the CSS is 37 so a net differential of -3. My handicap hasn't been updated yet.

    I had a handicap of 17.4 and so if I deduct 0.9 I'll be off 16.5 so still 17.

The captains prize is on tomorrow so I assume I can play off 17?

Or is there a possibility of getting cut by more than 0.9 as it was an away score?

    Thanks for any help!

You're spot on. Doesn't make a difference if its an away score, it's the CSS that determines the cut.

Only found out a few weeks ago...it kicks into play for Stroke Play competitions to take out any horrible holes... the most clause 19 allows you in a Nett Double Bogey per hole.
So if you have a 10 on a Par 4 (and you have 1 shot on that hole).. they will adjust your score from a 10 to a 7 (Par 4 + 1 Shot + DB)

only just found out what it does myself. i shot an 86 for a golfer of the year competition which was par to my handicap at the time. i was bang on CSS for the competition and was cut .3. so when i looked into it i had a 7 on a par 3 which was adjusted to 6 which gave me an adjusted gross of 85, which was one under CSS so thats how i got cut the .3

Yeah explains it. Shot a 9 on a par 5 where I had a shot so par+DB +1 is 8 which gave me an adjusted gross of 85, one less than I shot.
