I'd recommend the G300's bigger brother.

I'd recommend the G300's bigger brother.

Just got one yesterday, seems great for the money, big screen, nifty enough, it's like a five inch tablet with a phone added.

Hmm that one does look better. I'm not sure why I didn't look at that one earlier, thanks :)

plus get a cheap/free sim card on another network and "port it over" to get 20 euro off that price ;) use the spare money to grab a cover or a decent SD card ;)

    Hi,

I have a Huawei G300 and since I moved to Ice Cream Sandwich, it's really slow doing things like launching RTE app, Gmail etc. There might be ways of improving this with custom ROM etc but that's what it's like with standard OTA updated ROM. Now as I understand it, G510 has 512MB RAM with dual core processor, so same amount of RAM as G300, with upgraded processor. So still a risk of noticeable lag I think. For the money, might be worth looking at a Chinese Quad Core / 1GB option. Some of them will come in around €150 I think (depending on your luck with customs :-) ). There's a risk with more problematic warranty arrangements etc but worth considering... there's a lot of live threads on this forum discussing various Chinese options.

My current phone has only like 290mb of ram so 512mb is going to suite me grand. I did read some reviews saying the G300 is kinda laggy when updated to Ice Cream Sandwich. I think I will get the G510..
