Dual Monitors (HDMI)

    Hi,

So I want to run dual monitor from my Desktop to 2 HDMI Monitors. If I was to use a HDMI splitter 1in 2 out this should be fine. So my main question is some people have said to me they will mirror the images (although could of sworn I saw a mirror images radio in settings in both windows and linux). But the reason I want to use dual monitors is to expand my desktop, so I can browse the internet on one monitor while on the other monitor I could be working on something else. I understand a graphics card supporting dual HDMI connections maybe the better route but its not the way I want to do it.

I dont want to waste money on something that is not what I want, which is the reason I am posting here. Any input is greatly appreciated.:D

A splitter will obviously mirror the image, think about it :) . You will need a video card with dual DVI, HDMI or one with multiple displayport ports which you can get displayport->HDMI adaptors afaik. But yeah those splitters won't extend the display, only useful for mirroring
