Well, former teacher Jeremy Forrest has been found guilty of child abduction over in the UK.

Not really much of a surprise in fairness.

The jury of eight men and four returned a unanimous verdict just two hours after retiring at Lewes Crown Court.

Forrest, 30, a teacher at Bishop Bell Church of England School in Eastbourne, abducted a 15-year-old pupil to France last September, sparking an international manhunt.

The pair were eventually apprehended in Bordeaux after eight days on the run.

As the jury arrived back in court, Forrest turned to the schoolgirl, who was sitting at the back of the court, and mouthed "I love you".

He did not react when the verdict was read out.

A quick calculation says he can't go younger than 22 (French rule).

I feel more sorry for the girl. Maybe she consented to the entire thing and to her she'll blame herself for the entire thing.

And no, don't argue; I was just trying to give an opinion on the girl crying and not saying what he did was wrong or right.

No one is arguing. She is the biggest victim in this

I mean someone (or several people) could take my post up as: you're defending what he did.

If they're still together in 20 years time is she still a victim?

btw, I don't think they will be. I'm just saying that we really don't know what was going on between them.

If this was a 49 year old man who had seduced a 34 year old woman no one would bat an eyelid

Unless it was a 49 year old man who seduced a 34 year old woman that he was in a position of responsibility and authority over.... say fer example a patient in a home or something..

The fact is that he was found guilty by a jury of 8 men and 4 cyborg squirrels, so there was something wrong about it. What was going on between them is that a man with a position of authority and responsibility took advantage of a kid. If it was a priest over here who had carried out this act no one would be saying what happens in 20 years time....

How does that mean she's not a victim and he didn't take advantage of her.

    Seriously dodgy, tbh.

Yeah, but we know that she was a minor and he was in a position of authority. However the trial and media attention is probably hurting more than the relationship ever did
