any experience on items not being delivered from ebay people?

I ordered stuff (30 euro value) off Ebay off a seller with 99.9% positive feedback and a Top seller rating. Item dispatched from Rochdale in the UK.

Dispatched two weeks ago from the UK and still nothing on my end. Two weeks from the UK? I've gotten books etc of amazon in 2 days let alone two weeks...

Messaged the seller and was asked to wait another week due to "customs clearance" (There shouldn't be any customs to clear between here and the UK....). Told them I'd wait until next week before escalating further. I'm kinda thinking if it's not here in two weeks it must be lost in the post and there isn't much point waiting. Still, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

For me and my experience on ebay (300+ feedback) the speed of shipping from England to Ireland is just shocking.
I have got items after 3 weeks sometimes.
I would give it another week considering you have 45 days from transaction to claim on paypal.

Thanks for that. We'll see how it is this time next week before escalating this.

Exactly why I'm here, searching for alternative opinions.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt,.

I think amazon use different methods. As said already UK post can be terrible. Stuff coming from the US as standard mail usually gets to me quicker.

Most Amazon products are dropped to the Dublin Mail Centre by truck and posted in Ireland. Think Amazon don't even use Royal Mail anymore

    That explains it then :D

    Still no joy today.

I've bought through paypal and I was offered no tracking. I stand quite a good chance of getting my money through eBays buyer protection right?

I ordered a remote control and a HDMI splitter box from 2 separate UK eBay sellers on 31 May. The remote control had free postage from the UK and arrived on the following Tuesday. The HDMI splitter cost ~€4 in postage and didn't arrive until the 17th.

It never fails to amaze me how postal delivery times from the Britain were better in the Victorian era than they are today. There is no logical explanation as to why a letter/parcel posted in Ireland or Britain should be not be delivered the next day. In the days of steam (ships and trains) it could be done but not any longer it seems. That of course was back when real joined-up thinking was used as opposed to being talked about. For instance, mail sent by rail from London to Holyhead by train was offloaded quayside at Holyhead, straight onto the boat, off again and straight onto a quayside train again at Dun Laoghaire (Carlisle Pier). Mail could even be picked up along the way in Britain without the train even slowing down and was then sorted en route. These days there seems to be a conspiracy to drive away the small user of mail and force the rest of us into the hands of the couriers.

I ordered two packages from two different companies about three weeks ago - one using parcel motel, one direct to the house. No sign of either yet!
Funny, I contacted both companies yesterday to discuss the issue. Company one instantly stuck a replacement in the post and were great, company two won't answer a sinlge question until 45 days have elapsed since it was dispatched.

Yeah, it is incredible alright. I mean you could order something from a seller based in Hong Kong and it would arrive in a similar timeframe as some items from the UK. Probably best to order your items with Priority shipping if you require it urgently.

Careful with the latter, 45 days is the limit of opening a paypal dispute coincidentally (this is, if you have paid via paypal)

    Exactly. Sneaky tactics.

Anyways, I'm hoping my stuff arrives this week otherwise it's off to eBay I go. Three weeks is total madness, I've shipped stuff to rural montana in about a week or so in the past.

i do a good bit of ebay selling and buying to and from the UK and it doesnt go any faster in the opposite direction either :)

i've given up asking why it is so slow, it is brutal

its tough when you give people the option of the cheaper costs for standard post and two weeks later they still havent recieved their item and your hands are tied.

Bizarre really when all mail is supposed to go via air mail.
