    Motor events calendar here

    Hi all,

I've gotten the ok to post this topic up (Thanks again mods!) on boards.ie.

A few of us noticed that planning trips to meets / shows / events every year can be difficult.. sometimes you have to trawl though loads of forums / Facebook pages and text messages to find out when the next BMW or Italian or Ford or motorbike or Tractor etc meet is on a given weekend.

So a few of us thought it might be an idea to register the www.motorevents.ie domain and put a calendar application that clubs & people could use. So far I've gotten a trial license and about to buy the full license. Myself and a few others will update the calendar on a regular basis and do our best to keep it as accurate as possible.

People can email us with date/time/location/URL/link and we'll place it on the calendar. Long term we'll add a form that will allow users to auto-update the calender.

So, I wonder if forum members on here could take a look and share your opinions / advice / criticisms.... (but don't go too hard on us....)!! Keep in mind this is a very low tech site and we're just trying to keep it simple & run by enthusiasts as a hobby. If there is a positive response then we'll update and improve and maybe spend a little pocket money on it to make it more 'high tech'.. if not.. we're happy to leave it slide into oblivion.... :D

Just one point, if you click on the 'LIST' icon all the meets/shows should be displayed in a chronological easy to see format... also you can subscribe to RSS feeds from the application. Anyway I hope you find this somewhat useful and a benefit to all clubs / forums. Again, no matter how big or small the meet or show is we're happy to post, list it and support it.

    Hi all again,,

We've just setup a Facebook page as a few comments we received said it might be more convenient for people to post on a Facebook page etc.. so here's the link:

    https://www.facebook.com/MotorEventsIreland

Again this is just a start up idea / project.. please do let me know if you guys think it's worthwhile or not.. i.e. do you think it could benefit the greater motoring community here or not?

    Thanks again...

EDIT: We're removed any reference to any one club etc on the website.. this service is for all makes / models / clubs / shows etc.
