Fake parking permit

Hi all, We have limited parking in work and I was chatting a colleague today and he told me he has a fake parking permit to park out on the street outside work. He said he just copied a real parking permit and put his number plate on it. Surely this would not work? Any know what sort of fine there is if he got caught?

His car could be clamped/impounded and he could be done for forgery?

Anyway, I wouldn't like to find out and it's not really specific to this forum so I'm closing the thread.
