PC Build Video Editing/Virtualization/Gaming €1350

Managed to get this GTX770 for €310 at cost from the states which my brother in law should hopefully have for me by Friday. That leaves my budget at around €1350.

My main purpose for the machine will be Gaming and Running Server 2008/2012 through VM software(currently doing a course in server at the moment) My Mrs will need the machine to run video and photo-editing software... Adobe After Affects, Adobe Premiere, Vegas, Photoshop etc.

    1. What is your budget? €1350

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming(BF3&Arma3) / Video Editing / VM

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No (Have Windows 8 Pro Upgrade)

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Have a WD Caviar Black 1TB and GTX 770 just bought

    5. Do you need a monitor? No
5a. If yes, what size do you need. NA
5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 2 Monitors at 1920x1080. I will upgrade to two 1440 monitors in a year or two once I SLI the GPU

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Need a cheap and cheerful gaming Mouse, a new Mousepad and a decent Gaming Heaset with Mic

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Definitely
    8. How can you pay? Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser
    9. When are you purchasing? Anytime once all parts from the chosen build are available I'm in no big rush.
    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? I should be ok but based in Dublin City Centre

The room in which I keep my pc can get quite warm especially in the winter(third floor box room and heat rising from rooms below) so I would definitely need a case with a decent airflow and plenty of room for any additional fans/rad etc. Noise would not be too much of a issue!

Would like additional storage: SSD(for windows/software/couple of games) and a HDD 1TB-2TB drive for additonal storage.

This was a rough build I made up the other day of parts that I might need, got abit lost when it came to choosing a MB so went with one suggested in a previous post. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/17dxE I really like the case(not pushed on the colour) but think it might be slightly overpriced so I'm open to any other cases even if they are more expensive, would probably need 750w PSU for future SLI... a 80plus rate bronze or higher even better, any savings that can be made on any parts are welcome.

I really enjoyed following this forum and the builds posted here in regard to budget constraints are excellent so hopefully you guys could help me out :D

Good build. Here's something similar from HWVS. Case comes in white or silver as well and can support a second rad at the front if you want to add another in future. Still enough left over to get a nice mechanical keyboard and speakers if you wanted.

Thanks mate for your suggested build, kinda glad I did some homework, right anyways I have a couple of questions for you in regard to the psu and case and sorry if I waffle on a little bit. Will the 680w psu be enough to sli 770's especially if I'll be overclocking the cpu? Some forum posts on other sites say its adequate while others say it is not.

I picked this part originally which is roughly the same price on harwareversand as the one you chose. Would it be a good idea to give the build a little bit of leg room with the extra 70w with the corsair at the same price point or just stick with the be quiet 680w?

I've looked at the Nanoxia case it seems great for a silenced case but from this video I'm not really sold on it. I probably didn't phrase it right in my original post but the noise level of the machine would not be too much of problem so there was no real need for the case to be a silent. If you were to suggest :o another case that could mount a h110 or h100i, or even a go with a fairly good air cooler that would allow for some decent overclocking and will allow enough clearance for the seated ram I'd be very appreciative.

Also I took your advice about getting a mechanical keyboard and ordered the Cooler Master Mechanical Gaming Keyboard that I've seen mentioned in other posts on here, won't be delivered for a good while but great value for money in any of the reviews I've read. Thanks in advance for any help

Edit: just watched this video here I really think youtube search is broken for me but then again guys who do tech videos always throw in tags for **** that has nothing to do with their actual video, anyways I'm coming around to that case more so the german guy who looked like the actor who played Robocop probably put me it off but if you could still give a alternative to the deep silence case to ponder over that would be great.

No problem. Either psu is fine i'd say. Might as well grab the Corsair.

As for the case you might as well pick out one you like. There's lots of good ones around that price range.

This is a good air cooler that would have similar sound and performance levels as a h100i

Ye cheers mate for your help, was looking at couple of other cases c70 vengenace, cm storm trooper, and NZXT phantom but decided to go with the deep silence case you suggested with the h110, just have to do the bank transfer tomorrow. Managed to get a €20 voucher for hardware versand that worked posted the link in the bargain alerts... you just need to set up a new account if your account had been created before June 2013. Thanks for the help again

The nanoxia is available in white as well you know? You're original case was white.

Was looking everywhere about the mounting options of the h110 280mm in the Nanoxia Deep Silence case, emailed the company and got this reply
    Hi Anthony,

thank you for your email and your interest in our products. The front fans have a maximum speed of 1,300 rpm. Now I am afraid I have some bad news for you - the Deep Silence 1 is not fitted to take in a 280 mm radiator. You can mount a 240 mm model without any problems, but a 280 mm simply won't fit. Where dod you read that you could mount a 280 mm radiator in the case?

    Best regards,

I did my bank tranfer yesterday to HW so hopefully would they be cool to change to a H100i,

Edit: Rang them... guy on the phone was pleasant but for some reason he wasn't really convincing me he was actually changing the order, changed the h110 to the h100i and added extra Enermax case fan to make up for the difference in price. I asked could I get a email confirming the change but nothing at all so far.

Anybody on here have any trouble modifying/changing an order?

I kinda had a feeling this was going to happen... Just received a email confirming my bank transfer, I did not receive any emails confirming my updated order so rang them up and asked had my order been changed and was told the original order was picked out and is now in the process of being shipped.

I was told that I could return it but would probably have to pay to have it shipped back, how much this will cost I don't know she wasn't clear about it and really couldn't tell me, I was simply told to email them once I received my items to get a returns form. Anyways its not the end of the world but it puts me in a bit of a dilemma that I could probably use some advice on and any suggestions would be welcome

According to Nanoxia support The H110 water cooler will not fit in the case it has a 280mm rad, I could have sworn I watched vids on youtube that could have mentioned a 280mm rad compatibility and read **** online that mentioned it aswel or maybe I just got confused between 240mm compatibility being mentioned and assumed it fits. I have the feeling if I try to return the item for a exchange will probably have to pay the shipping fees. So kinda in limbo what to do, anyone have any idea on HW's return/exchange costs etc. (any of the older posts I've searched deal with RMA of defective items) ??? Or maybe there some way of utilizing the h110 within the build, I don't want to open it ifs definitely not going to fit in. any help would be appreciated.

I was sure it fitted as well. This video was one I've seen that lead me to believe it would fit. Go to 11:50.

    This review as well.

If it doesn't I apologise for the inconvenience. You can still get up and running with the stock cooler while waiting for a replacement.

Not to worry man I've read few online as well this review and video are examples, there are a few others around that clearly state 280mm rad support so we've been mislead lol.

I emailed the Nanoxia support earlier simply to to get a better idea of the case fans rpm and if they had any pics/diagrams showing a 280mm rad seated because there were none that I could find online, my plan was to set up a push/pull configuration with the rad mounted behind the the front case fans and the stock h110 fans behind the rad.

Anyways if HV are gonna be charging to return the cooler I'll try and sell it, a mate of mine will be buying a pc build around August/September, if I don't see a similarly priced h100i anywhere before then I'll add it to his build. Thanks for getting back to me

I don't know there are several reviews saying it will take a 280mm rad.

Maybe it's an issue with the Corsair h110. Hopefully it will fit.
