A bottle of coke or a coffee/latte with 3 of there sugars (bloody tiny yokes)

Also for daily lunch would you consider a hot chicken roll/wrap good, bad or ok for ya

And I don't mean on with a kg of mayo and cheese in it. The likes of stuffing, lettuce, maybe a light bit of cheese type ingredients

    Chicken wrap/roll = bad

Can't really comment on the coffee as I've no idea what the calories are in that compared to a coke.

Why is a chicken roll bad. Besides the arguments about white bread. The chicken is oven cooked. The fillings arent bad.

Are we talking about a breaded chicken fillet roll?

There's a thread here the other day about this highlighting the amount of calories in one of them. Do a search for it.

As stench said there was a thread on it a few pages back. Depending on a variety of factors there can be anything up to 700 calories in the deli chicken roll, between white bread, a handful of lettuce, a mountain of cheese and reclaimed chicken, more bread in the form of breadcrumbs, etc.

As for how bad it is for you, there is little nutritional value. The bread fills you up, and because it has a small layer of lettuce(which usually falls out) its easy to think its a healthy option.

Having worked in offices for over a decade most places didn't have canteens and so the nearby deli was a convenient lunch, and I used to love my chicken roll or wrap. However, I used to get very bad three o'clock or four o'clock slumps where Id be struggling to stay awake. Now I have a salad every day and don't get the three o'clock slump anymore. The ingredients are pretty similar to the chicken roll, but costs less both calorie and money-wise, and I feel lighter. I now get turkey breast, lettuce, onion, egg, mayo, and a variety of other veg.

Edit: A quick word on wraps. Wraps have a name for being more healthy than regular white bread, but an 8" flour tortilla like you get in the deli has the same amount of flour as 2 slices of white bread. Its effectively the same thing only a different shape.

So no matter which coffee I drink its still better that coke

Marginally and only if you dont load it with milk and sugar. Regular coffee would appear to be the best option But you should limit the intake of both as neither is a good option health wise.

There's a lot more than 3 sugars in a can of coke (unless we're talking tablespoons).

As for a roll/wrap, it's a lot of calories without a lot of nutrients

Just noticed that. The ones I get are a actual fillet of chicken with a light coating. I avoid the ones with made up chicken and there normally the one with a heavy breadcrumb

Breadcrumb or spice but there has to be a big difference between the ones that are a fillet of chicken and the reconstituted chicken which normally has a much heavyer breadcrumb coat

If its a chicken fillet, dipped in breadcrumbs then yes it is better than reconstituted chicken dipped in breadcrumb, but at the end of the day, you are still having bread twice. Also, breadcrumbs are usually reconstituted or reclaimed some how. Why would they use perfectly good bread for making breadcrumbs when you can blitz some of last weeks bread up in a blender and use that.

the mayo is the LEAST of your worries tbh and overall nutrition for the entire day and your current level of leaness/fitness matters more.

It's not breaded but I make this

Chicken fillet, dipped in egg white and then dipped in crushed/chopped almonds and into the oven for 25-30mins. Put cheese on the top for the last 5mins.

Why must your chicken be breaded
I find the cold roast chicken strips from a good deli taste better anyway on a roll.

sesame seeds work here too, as do peanuts for a home made satay;-)

I tired the Jamie Oliver 15 minute meals recipe where you bash a chicken breast flat and coat it lightly in cornmeal (10g sufficed for two fillets) and Chinese five spice before frying in a drop of sesame oil to create a crispy chicken fillet effect. Twas nom.
