Does anyone know anything about working part time and being on one parent family (OPF) and receiving rent allowance ? I started work yesterday and will have 19hrs this week but I'm afraid that they will stop my rent allowance ? Also how do I go about telling them do I have to tell the two offices separately can't seem to get hold of either on the phone ?

You need to go to the State Benefits forum here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=861 to look for advice for a lone parent. :)

You will need to let both offices know separately. Both OPF and Rent will want payslips in order to asses your earnings as means against both claims.

I current work 29 hours per week and recieve rent supplement. I've been signed off work with stress and depression. I'm in a really bad place at the moment filled with anxiety. Would I get a increase of my rent supplement while being on illness benifit to help pay my rent.

Hi there, hoping someone can help. At the beginning of last month I ended up having to leaving my house due to landlord selling. I informed social welfare. I had no where to live in the mean time. As housing crisis as you all know is crazy.. so I was staying in and between with family for a small while. And the Socail welfare officer just told me that when I had a permeated resident to contact her. Now my money from them has been stopped completely. As you can imagine having a very small child and not having anything so very stressful situation, I have contacted them and they’ve set up a meeting for next week, I’m just curious in the mean time does anybody know why this happened? What is goin g to happen? I’m literally at my wits end
