What is your favorite month?

Mine is April: The clock usually changes, so longer evenings. April never disappoints. Nobody expects good weather in April, so any good weather is a bonus. Also, you have the whole of summer to look forward to.

You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You’re one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you’re two months back in the middle of March...

December. Not a massive fan of xmas but I love walking around Dublin City Centre with all the lights. I also love the fact it gets dark earlier and the threat of snow.

Ive always liked February, love the way the evenings get longer and spells the end of winter.

May. Sometimes in May the rain stops for a little while. The real reason is because my annual leave starts on the 1st of May.

Wohoo to you May, I Fukn love you.

June because it has my birthday and we pretty much always get that week long spell of sunshine just as the leaving cert is starting. Pretty much the only time of year you can count on the weather being good :)

June-it never gets 100 percent dark and I love looking out at the small band of twilight moving around the sea, whenever I'm up letting the cat out etc. Feels very ethereal and other worldly.

December. Mostly for my birthday and Christmas but I really like Winter as well. The fact that I can eat more food and claim its for insulation is a bonus.

Love June. Always sad to see it end in fact. The countryside is in its pomp, everything bursting with life. And it just goes blue at night.

September. Brats back at school and my birthday, darker evenings and fallen leaves

October. The feel of the nights drawing in, the cosy semi-hibernation of duvets and electric blankets and reading in an armchair with a quilt over your knees, the crisp mornings, the colour and texture of leaves, the first time of the season you see your breath suspended in the cold air, the smell of an open fire and casseroles and hot chocolate, scarves, gloves and tingly noses, the blast of warmth when you get home cold and wet and finally open your hall door, and Christmas to look forward to.

June. Much longer nights, weather begins to pick up, and I prefer being at the beginning of a nice stretch of months rather than in the middle or near the end.

January is clearly the worst. Bound to get suicidal at least five times a day. :pac: Everybody's depressed, Christmas is over, any holidays you had are finished, everything is drab and gloomy. Terrible month. They should just erase that particular set of days, really.

January rules. There are usually a few nice crisp frosty days for woodland walks, the evenings are beginning to get longer, Christmas is over (Ok, I quite like Christmas but I get sick of it especially when the stuff is in the shops since August) and the sales are on!
