Can someone pls tell me what year car I can import and take advantage of the low tax rates introduced in 2008 ? Is it just late 2008 cars or all 2008s .
    Cheers

All 2008 cars now qualify for cheap tax when imported.

    Is this really true?

What about a late 2008 car which has lower tax on cc than on CO2 system? Surely that ends up with the more expensive tax!

After July 2008 for first registration it's emissions based regardless, before July you can choose whichever is cheapest.

Thanks, my comment was rhetorical (should have omitted to question marks). As you no doubt know, not all cars attracted lower tax post 1/7/08 which is the point I was trying to draw out. As the OP is looking to import, the overseas reg date will be important (not very likely if it's the ubiquitous 2L diesel but we can hope).

If you import a 3.0litre car with emissions of 250g/km, you won't be seeing any cheap tax!
