how to remove sealant?

The attached photo is of the base of the panel beside my front door and you can see very discoloured sealant there. We have had problems with leaks and this was the supposed solution. It is all across the 2 panels and the door and also on the inside.

It didn't really work 100% so now I want to remove all the sealant so I can see exactly where the problem is.

But, how do I remove the sealant? Even with a sharp knife it is very reluctant to come off. Is there any sort of solution I can use to make life easier?

A stanley blade and a hair drier usually works for me. Heat the sealant then put the blade at the bottom of the sealant and start slicing it, as you go along the sealant keep heating the sealant that should get it off.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try the hair dryer trick first and see how I go. I can always get the sealant remover if that doesn't work for me.
