Unshankable club

Would an iron be legal if the hosel was all above the club face, i.e. the clubface is full width to hit the ball ? Like a putter. Simply unshankable.

The 'Almaviva Unshankable'. I can see it now.

Could this be my route to great wealth (enabling me to shelve my plans to make my pension on the Champions Tour) ?

G'luck on the Champions tour Alma

When was the last time you swung a putter at 100mph, descending blow, divot etc... Say bye bye to putter head and club head in your case

    You'll make the tour though

I think it is illegal. The specifications on club design are very specific, don't have it to hand but I do think that design is not allowed. Its in here somewhere http://www.randa.org/en/Equipment.aspx

There's a company called Face Forward (or F2) that make "unshankable" irons.
The hosel connects to the back of the clubhead, they are legal too as far as I know.
