I know we're the last ones to the party but everyone knows the championship doesn't believe until the Ros take the field.

    Ros by 24.

Slaying the menace out wesht would transplant some hope into the championship ;)

Anyone want to have a stab at the last minute line-up change lottery? Donie Shine could still make the cut for us.

If only to see how smug Syferus will be tomorrow if it happens I'm hoping for a win for the Rossies.

I'd say 24 minutes after the end would be a very conservative estimate, Naughto. We're planning a BBQ out on the field after we win ::pac::

Bomber Liston seems to think it's promised windy and rainy according to the Indo today. This is the same guy who said before the Galway game Mayo's full-back line - y'know, the line with two current All-Stars - was one of their two big weaknesses, though.

From the looks of things it should be a great day for football.

Sligo have a better chance of making the Connacht final than Roscommon.

Bomber Liston piece for those that haven't read it yet.

Who'll be on the frees for both teams or will they be shared depending on the side they're on?

What sort of crowd is expected today?

I would think somewhere between 10 and 15,000.

    Such nonsense.....
Another member of the Kerry mafia blowing their own trumpet.

It's great that preview of games involving Roscommon Mayo and Clare turns primarily into an article praising Buckly, Micko, Evans and kerins o rahilys.

I don't think the piece will trouble the Pulitzer judges (more than likely phoned in and ghost written), but mentioning 3 of the above is relevent to this weekend's action.

Roscommon aren't even trying. Neither are Mayo, they don't have to.

One positive from a Sligo perspective, by losing to London at least we've avoided a hammering from Mayo

    roscommon are simply woeful

    farcical stuff

No doubt we will hear more guff about roscommon's minors and Under 21s etc.....

If theres any talent there at all (which is vastly overhyped at this stage) then theres a distinct lack of bottle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,966 ✭✭✭Syferus

Ouch. Beaten by a better team, and well beaten at that. Well done to the Mayo bucks and I wouldn't begrudge Mayo finally winning their grail this year. They're clearly not far off the level needed to achieve it.

We actually dominated the middle when it was still a game, we finally seemed to be figuring out how to break balls properly.

Hard to know what the result means beyond Mayo being AI contenders and us being well off that pace. I'd like a D2 team in the qualifiers as it would mean we learn where we stand against the second tier teams, which is where we need to raise ourselves to in next year's league.

At least Donie made it through a game, hopefully he's fit to start the next day.

well if there is no talent in roscommon at underage level then why have they beaten mayo at under 21 level in 2010, 11 and 12, they also beat mayo at minor level in 2011 and 12

if you are comfortably beating alot of these mayo lads at underage level then the problem in roscommon is at the management level and/or training methods, mayo are millions in debt but the team are training on a professional level whereas roscommon don't even have a proper training pitch.... mayo are able to take a winter training break in miami, while the roscommon county board have their hands out looking for donations to give the minors a lunch

there is no point having a very good underage team if the dont make the leap to the senior team.mayo are in debt of 11 or so million, but they are paying it back as far as i know.
