Maybe I'm crazy but I think back in 2003, 1993 really felt like 10 years ago but now in 2013, 2003 feels like only 3 or 4 years ago.

I can't believe 1986 was nearly 27 years ago, and 2006 is in and around seven years ago, or thereabouts.

How old are you? Time goes a lot slower when you're a kid, so if you were a 90s kid that's understandable.

Also, I reckon the internet age has made life seem to go by a lot quicker than it used to. So much of what we do now is in real time instead of anticipation - when was the last time you got incredibly excited about something that was maybe 6 months away? I haven't felt like that in ages, I get excited now about things which are a week or two away at most, except in pretty rare circumstances like when I saw the first trailer for Dark Knight Rises in February 2012 :p

The last thing I got excited about was Back To The Future II. A cruel lesson in the ways of the world for any 11 year old.:(

    So let's say you're 30 now - you were born in 1983.

The years from 1993 to 2003 (from 10 to 20) were a half of your life, and as your memories didn't kick in until three or four, those ten years make up the bulk of your life experiences.

From 2003 to 2013 is a third of your life then, it seems like it's going quicker because your frame of reference is that much longer now.

Cleopatra lived nearer the moon landing than the building of the great pyramid of cheops

You're not watching ITV4? Murder, She Wrote: The Celtic Riddle is on. It was made in 2003. I thought it was made in 1983. True story.

No she didn't. Cleopatra lived in Egypt, the moon landing was on the moon.

The longest running detective series of all wasn't it? Angela Lansbury never aged either, the ultimate MILF.

Tis very funny though. "Would you like a glass of whiskey?" They're all drinking whiskey, including the babies from what I can tell.

The ultimate serial killer. She travelled to a new town each week, where just by coincidence someone would be murdered and then she'd step in to help 'solve the crime'.

She was travelling around the world murdering and framing innocent people for her crimes.

    Still a ride mind you.

I do think 93-03 was a bigger jump in terms of technology, global communications etc, that sort of thing, of course, the second hand on the clocks moved at exactly the same speed between both decades though. :)

Wait for 2020ish-2030 the jump in technology will be massive! Time is also elastic http://typewriting.org/2007/01/31/Time_is_Elastic/

Something weird going on since the turn of the century right enough op.Could be the unusual number arrangement that's confusing the memory, more likely worm holes though.

Strangely enough i know what the op means :pac:
The last decade has flew by for me. But the previous ten years to that felt much much longer than a decade.

The simple answer is that time goes by quicker as you get older.
