You'd be better off posting details of the laptop. Make model hardware specs colour os etc.

if its the laptop that's important.

haven't mentioned a laptop in the motors thread?

Put it up on Donedeal with reward- No questions asked. It worked for us. Got the car back but not the contents. I know people will say don't pay but we did and were happy to. The guy that got the reward was not the thief. Bet you get a result if you do it. All the criminals watch Donedeal. Someone with information will see it.

Moved from Webgames. The Motors charter now applies.

Out of interest, how did you know he wasn't the thief? And how much did you pay?

I thought it was the contents you wanted? Instead you paid somebody to report a stolen car, when they should have done it it anyway.

Sorry, I see now - not the same car.

... meanwhile back in the real world. That's a good idea digit1. PITA that you'd have to resort to that kinda thing, but if it got the result you wanted. Needs must and all that.

Might be worth a try Savvy girl. Ad explaining the backstory to the photos and their value to you might get them back. Even scumbags would have a conscience about that sort of thing.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

In all honesty, most laptops are either flogged straight away or end up with someone who knows how to wipe them and flip them. It may be worthwhile checking a few pawn / cash converter shops, or anywhere local where you can buy a laptop for cheap i.e. Markets.

If you have the Dell invoice, through up the serial number here and model. At least it will at least be indexed by Google.
