Apologies if this is not in the right thread category, Mods, please move as You deem fit:

I am a Pink Floyd Nut, and wanted to open a song on Youtube ( well, the weather outside IS crap, so nothing better to do). When I open the following: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDH7JqF_EFg

I then get the following message:

This video contains content from EMI, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.

I realise I can go and search again for the specific track. But my question is this: Is this copyright grounds problem only in Ireland, or is it universal?

    Just interested to find out.

The up loader can see what countries it's blocked in in their video manager.

Depends on the songs, i have uploaded some stuff that only gets blocked in Germany for some reason? It entirely depends on the song AFAIK.

You could use a proxyserver to hide your location. There are many free proxyservers available on the 'net.

I expect people are going to wise up to getting around these things very quickly in the near future.

Thanks all for the heads up.

Anyhow, found the same track here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiGlkXmxRP0

Have no idea what EMI are trying to prove though!
