What to do with my unused car?

I stopped driving it recently and have cancelled the insurance so it's just sitting in the garden. I know the obvious answer is sell it but it has some minor issues (dent in side, service needed, and it wobbles when it drives). Altogether I don't think it would cost over 400 to fix but I don't have the cash to spare. The NCT has just ran out too.

I can't see anyone wanting to buy it with the repairs needed, I was reading Merlin's auction website and they do a car for cash deal too but I assume I'll be raped by this.

    Any ideas?

    Model/year?
Throw it up on DoneDeal. Someone will take it off you if priced right.

01 Renault Laguna. I didn't think anyone would be interested buying a car they'd have to fix after buying.

I'd a quick look on DoneDeal. Cars of that model and age are going from 400 to 1k.
Put it up for 400 and take 200 since it needs work.

Sorry meant 02, they seem to be 1000 or above. Reckon I could get 750 for it?

    Automatic transmission. 1.8

Put it up for €1000 and see what happens, if after a week or 2 nothing is happening, then drop the price a few quid. Keep doing it until it sells.

I spent almost 700 quid to get my Old car to pass the NCT (steering rack 3x electric window regs/2 motors and 3 tyres)like 6 weeks before i changed car (needed it for work)

Been sat outside with the odd start and drive for a year, if it's an uneconomical repair take w/e you can get for it

You could donate it to me?

Nah but seriously, the best option is to throw it up on donedeal with the problems advertised (which don't actually sound too bad) and get what you can for it.Better than having it rot away in the driveway.

Ask a scrap yard what they would give you for it, then add 200 and put it on done deal.

Can you put it through the nct? Then the person buying will now exactly what to fix. And you never know, it might pass.

I know it wont pass, plus I don't want to spend 50 quid for the test. This is the problem in my mind with selling it, it all seems like such a pain in the swiss. I suppose I'll have to bite the bullet and become a second hand car salesman. Now where did I leave that lime polyester suit.

I just cannot see anyone paying anywhere near €1000 for a 01/02 auto Laguna especially one that needs more money spent on it to put it right. I'd say it's worth a few hundred euro at most unfortunately imo.

put it through the test, then on done deal with a pic of the fail sheet, at the worst a scrapper guy will give 250 for it, the price of the test may well be the cheapest 55 you will spend this year, btw make sure that when your insurance is cancelled that you recieve a cheque in the post, the longer you leave it the smaller the cheque.

Would be about 1000 with a long NCT in very good condition ;)

Put it up on donedeal with an honest ad, asking for €500.

A bit tricky getting it to the test ;)

Car has no insurance, no NCT and probably no tax...
