Any experience with the Harley Benton/Artec/Gator powerplants folks?

Going to get one off thomann with my new vouchers but Im wondering if the cheap ones are worth buying? My board at the moment contains a TC Nova, a Polytune and a Bad Horsie wah. I know I'll end up buying another couple of pedals hence the need for the the powerplant.

Cheers, I should really search for these things. Just one other question, does it really matter that the Powerplant doesn't have isolated outputs but the Powerplant JR does?

Yes. If you've any pedals like fuzzes or sometimes distortion pedals, they can cause mighty hum if they're used with an un-isolated power supply. That larger Powerplant is effectively a daisy chained wall plug power supply in a large casing. All the outputs share a max of 500mA. I had one and found hum a pain in the arse with fuzz pedals.

The Junior on the other hand, has isolated outputs at 125mA each, so it won't cause massive hum throughout your chain if you have any fuzz or distortion pedals, because they're isolated.

Cheers. Might go for the JR so, just to be safe.

Has anyone got an opinion on the Thomann own brand one http://www.thomann.de/ie/harley_benton_powerplant.htm. It seems like good value.

It's a rare enough thing, but some pedals (e.g. EXH microsynth) will only work with isolated power supplies.

That's the one referred to above.
The junior version is isolated.I got the Jr version a few months ago.Very happy with it. I still daisy chain the less power sucking pedals from it.

I've been getting ground loops running two chains of effects off the Power Plant Junior so not sure how well isolated they are but they are well regulated and super quiet with the noisiest of my fuzz boxes.
