I just bought a new driver and it has a torque adjustment key.

Should I adjust my torque or leave it as I bought it?

Have you a good torque wrench? You don't want to add too much.

Ok but should I twist it no matter what, or only if I wanna adjust the torque?

I don't know anything about torque, so don't know if I need to adjust it or not.

I think I know how to use the key, just don't know if I need to use it.

This is a perfect advertisement for why adjustable drivers are a joke, sorry man I just couldn't resist:pac:.
Seriously though if you don't know why, then it's best to just leave it alone!.

you cant adjust the torque of the driver. they only way you could adjust torque is if you get a different shaft. the adjustment will just be for loft and open/close i would imagine. leave everything in neutral if you are hitting it well, i have my driver adjusted to open but only because i wanted to take a degree off the loft!

No offence taken, I agree, it's like if they hadn't given me this tool then I could blame my bad shots on myself but now if I hit a bad drive I start to think maybe I need to adjust my torque, when I'd never even heard of torque before I bought the club!

I'm pretty sure you can, it's not a loft adjustment tool, it's a torque adjustment tool.

what you have is a torque wrench, which tightens the screw on the bottom to a certain torque to make sure it doesnt come loose, the same way you would on the bolts on your wheels on your car! the wrench you have will click once you tighten it so far!

The torque is set by the shaft and cannot be changed.

The adjustments are for loft and lie. The tool for adjusting is called a torque tool but it doesn't adjust torque (it has a max torque setting so that you cannot overtighten the bolts.......and if you use it right, you shouldn't be able to under-tighten it).

Ok, so do they sell the driver with the screw loosened slightly?

No, but if you are making adjustments to the club head, they are providing a tool that ensures you tighten it the correct amount i.e. a torque wrench.

First you have to make sure you have the driver in the right setting depending your handicap ie A1 is for low handicaps and D3 for high handicaps , then when you get better adjust your driver as the handicap comes down :)
