Any Interest on starting a new Cycling Club in Cavan

Not sure if there are many/any cyclists on here from Cavan. Just putting it out there to see if there would be any interest in putting together(starting up) a cycling club in Cavan. Interested in hearing from people around the Cavan town and surrounding areas. I know that there is already a club in town but I would be looking at getting a race/leisure/club league/time trails etc, basically a club for all types of cyclists.
Like I said I'm just putting it out there to see what the response is like. PM me if at all interested. Thanks

Might be worth getting in touch with Cavan Triathlon Club cavantriathlonclub@hotmail.com

Am sure many of their members would be interested in a local TT/League.

Cootehill also has a bit of a multisport club

Virginia is twenty minutes drive from Cavan town and has over 100 members.

They tend to attract anyone from Virginia down as far as the outskirts of Cavan town and are hugely successful so it'd be very hard to start up another club with their popularity.

Hey lads, I'm a member of Breffni Wheelers, albeit a relatively new one, joining this time last year. It is quite a small club but is expanding. We cater for a very broad range of cyclists. I would be more than happy to introduce ye if ye wanted to check us out.

Generally at this time of year they are settling down to weekend spins, 60 - 100km spins both Saturday and Sunday. There are also shorter spins for those who want.

There is quite a strong core element to the club who can push it on. We have a number of members who have raced and a number of members, including myself who are hoping to start, though there is no one at the minute it's definitely some thing we are hoping to develop.

Regarding TTs, we ran a series during the summer in conjunction with the Tri club which proved to be quite successful.

I'd like to think we can offer something that would be of interest most cyclists and we are always delighted to have new members.

There is a strong social aspect to the club too, and our new gear rocks!

If you have any questions please feel free to ask, or PM me, and as I said I we would be more than happy for you to accompany us for a few spins.

HI Steaf, Thanks for the reply.

A new club has managed to form just beside me here in Cavan. They are called Sheelin Flyers. They cater for people from the crosserlough, ballinagh, ballymachugh areas and around. anyone interested in learning more about the club PM me here. They are still in the early stages of starting up but all signs looks positive so far. here is the FB page https://www.facebook.com/SheelinFlyers
