First flight is planned for 4 hours......they need 10 hours of trouble free flight to be permitted a flyover at the Paris Airshow in La Bourget........:D

Would be a nice PR coup with Boeing only getting the B787 back in the air recently.

There is our own little EI first on the list of customers.

The benefit of Aer Lingus, as opposed to the English version.

Well down from 1st......they were originally supposed to get delivery in 2014...along with Finnair, they were to be the 1st 2 European airlines. However they pushed back their delivery slots to 2015/2016....with a further 3 "not before 2017"

This would definitely be the highlight of the show if she goes to it next week! Hopefully I can catch live tomorrow morning before heading off to work

Sorry what i mean by first is as per the customer list on the a350 page. The A followed by an E has its benefits.

Just watching it now....have to say Airbus are really plugging this very well.....no big media hoohah but great use of web publishing. EG the roll out pics were online within 30 minutes of the hanger door opening.

Yeah, you'd have to admit, Airbus is doing a better job at this than Boeing with their 787 considering the media publicity, production and launching of the plane

And she's off the ground! Looks fantastic

Looked very good except they kept the wheels down until out of view so we got no shot of it clean.

After all the technical talk John Leahy is on now... puke!

what was the reason for AERLINGUS pushing its order back.

Decision was taken about 2 years ago. At the time I think they cited pushing it back gave them more breathing room in relation to financial outlay. In addition the A350's are not really needed so soon as EI has a relatively young fleet of A330. (Only 2 of them are over 6 years old)

What happened to the older A330s, they have operated 330s way longer than 6 years.
