What cycling app's do you use?

I recently took my bike out of the shed after it being there many years and now have it up and running. I've been out on it a few times now and everything is working fine, myself included.

Today I will be cycling from Tallaght to Palmerstown and back again. My question is, are there any app's for cycling routes around Dublin? I was just thinking that it would be handy to have. Also, do you use app's for cycling? If so, what are they?

    Thanks :-)

This is handy for planning your route

    http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php

Strava free app is pretty cool, download it and play about with it, I'm a complete noob but I love it.
It has different segments of flats, hills and descent's everywhere, it automatically records your time by GPS and puts you on a leaderboard so you can see how slow you are compared to others :-)
Just get it and play with it, you'll be impressed.

Strava for me to, I find it very addictive and it probably has me out more than I would be without it!

How Reliable is Strava? When I look at my routes it sometimes records me hundreds of meters away from where I was and on one or two occasions the meters climbed have been way out.

Clearly Its free so I'm not complaining and I am using a (very) budget smart phone so that could be the issue bat am interested to know if others are finding the same things?

It's 99% most definitely the GPS hardware in your phone.

I suspect as much, serious first world problems either way.:D

    Definitely :D

I assume you not just opening up the app and clicking record straight away, yes? It takes a few minutes to actually lock on to enough satellites to get a good enough signal...

Of the apps I've used over the past 2+ years I find Strava to be the best. The website is my personal favourite and the idea of segments is great. It's pretty accurate for me on my HTC One and previously a Galaxy S2.

Can you transfer data from one app to another.
My map my ride app giving some trouble. It seems to be losing a few km lately.

Strava works better than mapmyride for me.

Accuracy is totally hardware dependent. I bought a cheap Garmin watch because my old HTC Desire HD had such crap GPS. If you watch out on Amazon and other deal sites you can sometimes pick up a watch very cheaply.

With my Garmin, I can see which lanes I was in while taking a turn etc.

Endomondo all the way, its cross compatible with myfitnesspal so if you're trying to lose weight the calories are offset from one to the other.
