Not the same letter because you would be changing the date which I'm not sure if its illegal.

I have used the same permissions just got the farmer to sign a new form.

It doesnt say the permission has to be renewed. I used photocopy od my original that was 17months old and there were no issues.

There prob wouldn't be any issues but I just think it would be the decent thing to do so the farmer knows what your using his name for. He might even just say work away but out of gratitude for his permission I'd ask him again.

The same permission should be fine, as should the original letter. Just explain that to the firearm officer, and make sure your farmer/landowner knows you're applying again in case he gets a phone call.
Worked fine for me three times.

You don't have to come up with new/renewed permissions for an additional firearm if you will be using it on the same permissions. The only common exception as far as I know is the permission letters required to renew a deer hunting licence because the NPWS wants to see current dates on them.
