Going back in July to Ireland and was wondering if there is a rental company that does drop off at the airport ?

Someone told me before that Europcar has a dropoff point at the car park across from Terminal 1. Is that true ?

Or is it a different crowd ?

Don't really fancy that Shuttle bus malarky.

they're all off site now, a new facility was built when terminal 2 was done. it's about a 5 minute bus trip

I knew all the other ones were offsite, but a mate that visited from the states said it was pickup and dropoff from near Terminal 1 with Europcar, was last year so after T2 opened.

And on their own page it says:

If you've taken advantage of car hire at Dublin Airport, then you'll be able to wrap up your stay in Ireland's capital with minimal hassle. Europcar's return depot is close to the Departure Hall, so you can be on your way to the check-in desks in no time.

Just wondering if anyone knows where it is and how far it is to walk from T1 ?

Which Terminal are you coming in to, and do you have time to join a "members" club?

Most companies have collection spaces in T2 now, but it's either pot luck or the prestige members cars that are parked there.

Check who's cheap and see if you can join. Hertz had No1. Gold but I think that's gone now, Avis have preferred. Usually free to join and very handy if you rent failry frequently. All details are loaded on your profile so when you get to the desk all they need to do is see your licence, hand you the keys, tell you which bay it's in, and away you go. No p1ssing around with paperwork and imprints of credit cards etc.

There is a chance that you'd still have to collect in Eastlands, but busses are generally very frequent and it's only a few mintues journey - not like Heathrow or Gatwick.

simply follow the signs to Eastlands Business Park, where the Europcar / Irish Car Rentals depot is located

Eastlands is where they are all located, behind ALSAA and next to Long Term 1

Ever heard of this company ?
If you return your car outside our office hours, your rental will incur a fee of 30Euro. Please return your car to the short term multistory car park in Block C, Level 3 opposite the main terminal. Please leave the keys and car park ticket in the slot in our desk in the prebooked car rental area in the main arrivals hall, indicating where you have parked the car.

Never heard of them, and that's quite a way off the Airport by the looks of the map.

Is it just returning that you are worried about? The Malone solution will cost you €30 as they need to send someone up to collect, but most of the major rental companies have return spaces in T2. Park there and throw the keys in to the desk in the terminal - don't think it's supposed to be done this way, but it can be.

If you are flying from T1 one though, it's a bit of a walk from T2 via the surface and I think it's long enough through the terminal buildings too.

No idea what the situation is for hire from T1 - haven't been in that for a good while now. Presume it's all bus out to Eastlands, but I may be wrong.

after 8pm you can pick up and drop off at the terminal multistorey with all companies.

i'll need to look into that. i've been renting every so often for the past 8 years and in the past 2 years, all of budget, europcar, hertz and avis have been off site.
dollar and enterprise are a fair bit away on the road into santry, and buses not that frequent.
