Surely the asking price is at the far side of lunacy.

Wouldn't mind having the Jordan 198 sidepod to go along with my other Jordan stuff.

It is on the higher side tbh but not massively so, it sort of depends on if you were looking for specifically Jordan stuff or F1 parts in general. If I was a mad Jordan fan I'd probably go for the third one down in this list would be a cooler piece of kit for around the same money.

Has Eddie Jordan kept some or all of the Jordan chassis? Would any of them to able to be ran?

No idea if he kept any but full Jordan F1 cars do occasionally appear for sale.
Heres one, it's missing an engine but I think if you were actually going to run it you would put in a more reliable engine than the original anyway,
back then they went pop much more than now.

    Harsh.
Even after having followed f1 throughout the jordan era, I am often surprised at how near the front they really were when watching back old races. hh frentzen had a chance at a championship too.

Thats true. One of the channels on Justin.tv would show all races from each season and it surprised me how competitive they actually were. They would have been considered a top team for a while

They were no Ferrari or anything but I don't think that's fair. They came fifth or better in the championship seven times. Fifth might not sound like much but if we compare it to last year that was where Mercedes finished who are by no means a small team.

i think they managed to win four or five races in about fifteen years, i wouldnt call a great record, but i guess there were worse teams around at the time so i probably am been a bit unfair.

In F1 terms that was a brilliant record. There were, and still are F1 teams who have won nothing, no poles, no points, no top ten or even top 15 finishes. Plus there are F1 drivers who have gone a whole career and won nothing, Jean Alesi won 1 F1 race in his career, and he was one of the top racers of his era. A bit like the World Cup, how many teams have actually won it, 4 or 5 I think...out of how many countries competing ?
Minardi would be a prime example of a team , some 20 years in F1 and won nothing, bar a few c'ship points.
Jordan finished 4th in the Constructors c'ship one year, can you imagine if Ireland finished 4th in the World Cup, we'd be force fed re-runs for decades.
I applaud Eddie Jordan for everything he has achieved, and long may he prosper.

    4th in 1998 and 3rd in 1999.

Looking back at Jordan, their debut year in 1991 was superb. Finished 5th in the Constructors Championship, scoring 13 points. Had the Ford Cosworth HB V8 engines that Benetton used (were originally planning on using Judd V8's). The car was very balanced and John Watson gave the car the thumbs up following a test. They could have scored more points in that season, and in some races de Cesaris was in the points only to retire due to mechanical failure.

Back in 1991, they had to go through the horror of pre-qualifying. If you didn't pre-qualify, you didn't get into main qualifying.

Also, the Jordan 191 won the Autosport Car of the Year award in 1991, which is some achievement.

But the biggest thing about is Jordan is that the team survived during their early years in F1, when some teams like Central Park Modena only lasted one season.

Everyone remembers Schumacher at Spa in 91 but they forget de Cesaris was chasing Senna for the lead when his car failed.

And it was the halfway point in 1998 before the team scored a point. To finish 4th after that was an amazing achievement.
