Forgotton pattern lock, only one button on device.

Important note before reading onwards: I would advise anyone against suggesting anything that could be used, for example, by someone who has acquired a device by suspicious means to gain access. I am simply asking for advice on where to seek help or what form of help to seek.

    Hi,

I have an android tablet here Easypix SmartPad EP750, my brother has forgotten the pattern lock and the gmail account and password are not being recognised due to the wifi not being on, the lock of course prevents turning it on.

I can't get into service mode either, the device only has one single physical button which is the power button. It also has a small reset hole on the back.

I've tried following countless web page guides and suggestions and steps and they all get stuck on getting the tablet into service mode or enabling development mode (in the case of rooting the device).

I've exhausted any means of getting around it, even contacted Easy Pix, no reply. There website only gives an option for starting service mode by the power + volume key combo...(generic how to for everything, lazy).

Would contacting google directly benefit me? Surely a lock with no wifi enabled should not mean a bricked device just because the software is apparently not doing what it is supposed to (providing a means of forgotton details work around)?

Any help in getting help appreciated.

You can access the gmail account from any computer with internet access.

The account works perfectly online, the details go in and are accepted. However on the device the wifi is off and the exact same details are not being accepted, presumably because they cannot be authenticated due to the wifi being off.
