Noting that you get what you pay for - Aldi have/had some reasonable gear at very low prices at the moment. Perfect for summer and if you just starting out.

You could kit yourself out with Jersey, Padded shorts, gloves & Jacket (detachable sleeves), light shower jacket for around €60. They defo wont be the best gear, but will get you on the road for the next few months.

You can then start the slippery slide into online bike stores, "great deals", free P&P, "end of season" etc. That is when the real fun begins

Keep an ear out for pro team websites that are approching extiction... ie. I got a full pro Skil Shimano kit 2 years ago for about 100 when they were selling off end of season/team kit... Keep an eye on Radioshack....

    Ouh good thinking batman.

What I also tend to do as well is go onto say wiggle, stick the jersey and shorts that I want in the basket and leave them there. Check in every now and again (provided your not in a hurry to buy) and when the price drops your basket updates automatically so checkout then. Last year I got the full AG2R kit for €40.

Got a couple of pairs of the older DHB aeron shorts and was very pleased with them. Good price and they've worn very well. Got a pair of their more expensive aeron race shorts for the WW200 and they were much less comfy. The tops are fine, but nothing special for the money.

found the same thing with the expensive shorts, it wasn't as good as the cheaper stuff. i have a top, it's okay, but have the winter jacket and it's superb (this one http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-windslam-softshell-jacket/)

have the long legged padded roubaix tights and they are excellent as well, wore them all winter and was never cold, and still in perfect condition

Forget to mention I also got the dhb windslam jacket, which is a great jacket for the money though some of the waterproof inner taping is starting to come off after a few years of heavy usage. Would still recommend it.
