Does anyone know if you must include every single address ever lived in - ie to include all accommodation whilst at college and gap year from same? My registered address would have been my parents / home address at that time. My college addresses were temporary - so do actually they need to be included?

It is Garda vetting, so I would assume so.

I was running out of space on that form so I left out where I was living for my MA as it was only an hour from home (easily commutable) , but it was highlighted and sent back to me from the teaching council to recomplete. :( Try to be as accurate as you can but its a nuisance trying to remember your exact addresses whilst at college .

Email vetting@teachingcouncil.ie . They'll post you it straight away.

    Are you a teacher?

Otherwise barnardoes is the way to go. Remember that vetting is carried out on your behalf by an organisation , you can't apply to the vetting unit yourself:)

not unless you were in that residence for a long period- example if you were in galway at college but moved home in the summers, you don't have to include it!!

If you run out of space for addresses leave a 'please see attached' note at the end of the addresses section. Staple an A4 sheet to the form. With those extra addresses and dates on it.

I have filled out many garda vetting forms in the last couple of years due to the industry which i work in, lived in many different places during my many years in college but i have only ever put down one or two of them ( generally due to the fact that i cannot remember the actual addresses). Have never had any problems. Dont worry!

I would say you might get away with leaving a few out but a couple of years down the line, if it's somehow discovered it will look bad that you left them out and might cost you. I'd add and extra page, like has been suggested.

    ^^

And if, in a couple of years down the line, the vetting unit actually put sensible record systems in place and start noticing differences in application addresses when you're applying through a different organisation, or renewing an existing clearance. How will you remember which addresses you bothered to remember to add the last time?

Just fill it out properly. It isn't difficult...

    ;)

I've made a copy of my original form and kept it filed so all I have to do is copy the details on it in future :)

If you leave out addresses you are fraudulently completing the form. It could come back to bite you.
