Maybe try more than one practice swing next time. I've seen Tiger do it and he's good.

Well done, it's a great feeling when things go well. Keep at it.

On another note I'm pretty annoyed by the sarcastic responses you've had on here, you have posted something that you are delighted about and people feel the need to take the P*ss.

I thought golf was supposed to be friendly and all encompassing, obviously not on this forum! Some people need to grow up a bit...

Ah relax will ye. It was only tongue in cheek from people.

The OP is a bit ridiculous lets be honest and hardly worthy of a thread on a golf forum. It's not exactly the cure for cancer he has discovered.

Sure he's not a real golfer then? Let's make sure he quits & leaves the course for the grown ups.........

There's being funny, then there's being an arse.

It's worthy of a thread if the OP thinks it is. I didn't realise the golf forum was only for established golfers and not a place for beginners to post in, never mind having the nerve to start a thread....!!

I suggest you read the OP's post and have a look down the responses below, it would hardly make you proud of the forum now, would it?

If I'm being honest, I wasnt sure if the op was a joke or not initially, as I assumed that it was a given to take a practice swing.

But I guess if its something that was never pointed out before then it could be something that would make a big difference to a beginners game.

Op, for me, especially when chipping I like to take as many practice swings as are needed until I get one that feels how I want to play the real shot. That might take 1, it might take 4. (though 45 might be a couple too many ;) )

Practice swings should be part of your pre shot routine to help give you confidence when you stand over the ball to hit the actual shot.

And don't have any fear about posting questions or thoughts on here, we're a mostly good bunch!!

The first sign of rain and ye are (yous are... you are) at each other :)

OP, you'll have made it as a golfer when you start doing a POST shot routine...

Very important to try and work on this! When I hit a horrendous shot I'll spend a few mins looking at the ground in disbelief.
As if to suggest to my playing partners that I had a horrible lie.
Then I'll start doing a few post shot swings, these are critical, nice controlled swings (nothing like my normal one) just to try to make them believe that the original shot was a complete fluke and nothing to do with my playing ability.
Remember to pretend to follow the imaginary ball all the way as it flys at the pin.

It gets tiresome to keep this up after 10 duffed shots on the first 2 holes, but if you don't do it, they may mistake you for a bad golfer

    :);)
