Tax on shares

    Hi there
    I have been awarded circa 20k (I think) gross, in shares from my employer. (Matured over 3 years).Can anyone advise how much tax I would expect to pay and how much net I would receive?

    Hi

    From 1 January 2011, shares awards have been brought within the PAYE collection system. The net value of any shares awarded are to be treated as notional pay at the time the shares are given to the employee and PAYE/PRSI and USC deducted and paid over with the relevant P30 return. The employer is required make an estimate of the value of the shares when determinimg the amount of notional pay.

    The amount of tax will depend on your own personal tax position.
